STRATA is an artificial-history civilization simulator where history doesn’t disappear when the world changes.

Centuries later, those same streets, homes, roads, battle sites, and ruined settlements can become archaeology — preserving evidence of the people and events that actually existed there.

STRATA isn’t built around scripted historical events. Its history emerges from the simulation.

Cities develop persistent districts, buildings, households, infrastructure, political systems, trade networks, roads, and military conflicts. Routes form naturally through repeated movement and can grow into major infrastructure, deteriorate over time, suffer damage during warfare, and reshape how settlements expand.

And when a civilization disappears, the simulation remembers.

Enter abandoned cities, uncover excavated remains, and investigate what happened using STRATA’s historical investigation systems. Trace artifacts, structures, households, roads, and destruction layers back through time. Ask WHY? something happened, use TRACE to follow its history, or VIEW THEN to see the world as it existed in an earlier era.

An archaeological site isn’t a randomly generated ruin placed for the player to discover. It is the physical remains of a city that once existed inside the simulation.

History continues far beyond a single civilization. Nations fracture. Borders shift. Roads outlive the states that built them. Settlements are destroyed and rebuilt. New societies inherit landscapes shaped by people who may have disappeared centuries earlier.

You can even branch the timeline and explore alternate futures without erasing the history that came before.
